Student Work
2007-2008
In order to have work posted on this page, students must have a 'permission to post' slip turned in to Sra. Thompson, and work must be typed and saved in the 'MS Web Postings' folder on the Netshare.
Uh Oh... When I downloaded the files to email to myself before we left for Winter Break, there were very few submissions. I wish more students had decided to post.
Imagine my disappointment when I realized that only a handful of students had given me a 'permission to post' form! So, out of the few who actually typed work to be posted, only TWO were allowed! Grrr... - Sra. Thompson
If you want your work posted, please ask your parent to write the following on a piece of paper, sign it, then you hand it to me:
My child, ____________________________, has my permission to have work and/or photos appear on the CSIA middle school website, where he or she will be identified by first name only.

Aungeni (backwards story)
It was Saturday night. I was babysitting my 8 year old sister Bailey. When I saw the doorknob turn, I got excited and looked out the window. It was my mom coming back from her date with her boyfriend Mike. He looked extra happy.
Mom and Mike walked in the house and gave me and my sister a hug. I love Mike- he is nice, smart, and caring. My mom and Mike sat on the couch. My mom motioned for us to go to bed. As I was walking up the stairs I remembered I forgot something.
I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen. As I was walking out of the kitchen I heard my mom say, “yes, yes I will marry you.” I thought “what Mike just proposed to mom.” I ran into the living room and saw the most beautiful ring ever. I couldn’t imagine anything more beautiful!

JaLeigha (three wishes story)
The time has come
There is no sound of heavy rain, the Brown’s living room is not cozy and bright, but instead: dark and gloomy. Mr. Brown and his grandson Sherman don’t play chess, and Mrs. Brown doesn’t knit by the fire. Instead, they all sit in silence, staring at nothing. The only sound is of Mrs. Brown’s rocking chair: back and forth, back and forth. Sherman is sitting Indian style on the floor rocking back and forth back and forth. But Mr. Brown on the other hand is sitting in his big car of a chair not moving, not blinking. Not making a sound. Why is this? Because Mr. Brown has been deceased now for a day and a half.
You see, the Brown’s family is a very peculiar family. It all started the night before when Mr. Brown suddenly died in his sleep. Mrs. Brown knew something was wrong when she felt her husband shifting oddly in their bed. But she didn’t think anything of it. She awoke the next morning with her husband lying very still next to her, eyes wide open, pupils dilated. Mrs. Brown didn’t panic at all; she simply went into her grandson’s room and said “Sherman, your grandfather’s dead”. Sherman awoke very abruptly but to find that his grandmother had already left the room.
Mrs. Brown then got her husband up, undressed, bathed and redressed him in a black tuxedo, complete with a tie and matching shoes. She then took him downstairs, sat him in his favorite chair, and poured him a cup of coffee, as if he were going to drink it and just didn’t feel like it. When Sherman came downstairs, he could only sit down next to his grandfather and rock back and forth, back and forth. He only said “what happened to grandpa?” His grandmother withdrew from her pocket the skeleton key. Sherman didn’t say anything else for he knew what that meant.
The night before, Mrs. Brown had gone up to the attic while everyone asleep. You see. The house was a very old house with a lot of history. Bad history. But Mrs. Brown didn’t know this, and boy was she in for a surprise. While Mrs. Brown was rummaging through her belongings, she noticed that there was a doorknob behind her open bookcase. She stared at it for a moment, then it began to rattle viciously. When it stopped, she walked slowly toward the bookcase. She pushed it aside and began trying to open the door, but it wouldn’t budge. Mrs. Brown then realized that she did have a key on her key ring that she had never used before: the skeleton key. She than slowly inserted the key and began tot urn it. The door unexpectedly flew open and Mrs. Brown came crashing to the ground, and out came a swirl of black dust. When it stopped Mrs. Brown slowly got up and crept into the room. All around her were big canopic jars full of different organs of the body. Suddenly Mrs. Brown felt as if someone was watching her. Someone she knew was unwanted in her house. Mrs. Brown hesitantly turned around, and there stood a black figure made up of black dust. Mrs. Brown looked up and stared her enemy dead in the eye and knew exactly what it was: the angel of death. Mrs. Brown automatically thought it was coming for her, so she promised that she would give anything for it to take someone else but not her. The suddenly, the black figure disappeared, and Mrs. Brown ran out the room very quickly locking all doors behind her.
So why is Mrs. Brown so calm? Because she realizes that she got what she asked for. Now she’s regretting it and doesn’t know what to do. Then suddenly, Mrs. Brown drops down to her knees very randomly, and begins to wish that they would take someone else, and give her her son back. When she stops, her husband instantly begins to blink and look around, but at the same time, her grandson falls back on the floor dead: eyes wide open and pupils dilated. Mrs. Brown, then realizing what she has done, takes the key in her hand and finally accepts the fact that it is her time to go and wishes that they take her instead, and give her grandson back. At that moment, the angel of death appears again, and Mrs. Brown vanishes. Sherman then wakes up, but hears a strange noise, a rattling noise, but doesn’t think anything of it. He just sits there, him and his grandfather, rocking back and forth, back and forth.
